Charlie has been involved in the London property sector since 1987 when he started his working life at a private bespoke Belgravia based valuers and estate agents. Charlie then went on to gain a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management and has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2000. He is also a member of The Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA) and has added to his portfolio of qualifications by undertaking energy assessment courses. The Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA) was taken over by the RICS in December 1999.

The Mactaggart family’s involvement in property began in the 1900’s with the Mactaggart & Mickel families partnering to form a successful enterprise to build good quality private and social housing in Glasgow. The company became limited in 1925 and is still considered to be one of Scotland’s finest house builders, winning numerous awards for developments. Charlie’s father is a senior partner in legal firm Mactaggart & Co, which was one of the first legal firms in Scotland to set up an Estate Agency service.
